Why Choose Us
Why DKT Project Management
One Point of Contact
Instead of juggling a designer, contractor, vendors, and trades, you talk to us. We translate between everyone and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You get a real budget at kickoff and a running tracker after that. Every change order is documented, priced, and approved before any work proceeds.
Trusted Vendor Network
We work with vetted contractors, fabricators, and trades across Flower Mound, Dallas, and Fort Worth — people who show up, do quality work, and stand behind it.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked
What does an interior design project manager actually do?
An interior design project manager is the single point of contact who keeps your project moving. We coordinate vendors, contractors, and trades; track the schedule and budget; manage procurement and deliveries; handle change orders; visit the site to verify quality; and run the final walkthrough and punch list. The goal is simple — you get a beautiful finished space without having to chase down a dozen people every week.
Do I need project management if I already have a contractor?
Often, yes. A general contractor manages construction crews and trades, but they are not responsible for design intent, furniture procurement, decor lead times, or coordinating between your designer and the build team. Our project management fills that gap — making sure the design gets executed the way it was drawn, finishes arrive on time, and nothing gets lost between the GC and the design side.
How do you handle change orders?
Every change order is documented in writing with a clear scope, cost impact, and schedule impact before any work proceeds. We review it with you, get written approval, and update the master budget and timeline. No surprises on the final invoice. We would rather have an uncomfortable five-minute conversation up front than a much harder one at closeout.
How is project management billed — flat fee or hourly?
It depends on the project. Smaller, well-scoped projects often work best on a flat fee so you know exactly what you are paying. Larger or more open-ended projects — full renovations, ground-up builds, commercial fit-outs — are typically billed hourly or as a percentage of project value. We will recommend the structure that makes the most sense for your scope and walk you through it before you sign anything.
Can you take over a project that has already started?
Yes. We do this regularly for clients in Flower Mound and across the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex who started a project and realized they needed more structure. We begin with a paid audit of where things stand — contracts, budget burn, outstanding orders, schedule — and then propose a clear plan to get the project back on track.
How often do you visit the site?
Site visit cadence is set during kickoff and depends on the phase of work. During active construction or installation, we are typically on site one to two times per week, plus any critical milestone walks. During slower phases like procurement, we shift to status calls and only visit when there is something to inspect or sign off on. You always get a written site report after every visit.
